Terms of Service — Catch Karma

1. About Catch Karma

Program Name: Catch Karma
Program Description: Catch Karma is a community kindness game in Kelowna, BC. Participants opt in by SMS, receive kindness missions, submit proof of completion (photos, messages, or "DONE" replies), and earn entries into an end-of-pilot prize draw.

By texting KARMA to our number and participating in missions, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility

You must be 13 or older to participate. By using the service, you confirm you meet this requirement and that the phone number you use belongs to you or that you have permission to use it. Participants between 13 and 17 should review these Terms with a parent or guardian before submitting photos.

3. How the Service Works

• Find a Ripple Card in the community.
• Text KARMA to 249-475-2762 to opt in.
• You will receive a series of kindness missions via SMS.
• Complete each mission and reply with the requested proof — a photo, a short message, or "DONE," depending on the mission.
• Completing missions earns you entries into an end-of-pilot prize draw.
• Winners are drawn at random at the close of the pilot, with entry weighting based on participation. Winners are contacted via SMS.

There is no purchase necessary. Catch Karma is free to play.

4. SMS Terms & Consent

By texting KARMA to our number, you agree to receive SMS messages from Catch Karma. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time.

• Message Frequency: Recurring messages, approximately 1–3 messages per week during active participation, with quieter periods between missions.
• Message and Data Rates: Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier plan.
• Opt-Out: Reply STOP to any message to opt out at any time. After you reply STOP, we will send one final message confirming your opt-out, after which you will no longer receive SMS messages from Catch Karma. Reply START anytime to rejoin.
• Help: Reply HELP for help and support information, or contact us directly at info@catchkarma.co.
• Carriers: Supported carriers include all major Canadian and US carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

5. Your Conduct

You agree to:

• Use Catch Karma in good faith and in the spirit of community kindness
• Submit honest proof of mission completion — fabricated or fraudulent submissions will be disqualified from the prize draw
• Not use Catch Karma to harass, harm, deceive, or endanger others
• Comply with all applicable laws

We reserve the right to remove participants who violate these terms and to disqualify entries we believe are fraudulent.

6. Mission Safety

Catch Karma missions are designed to be safe, simple, and pro-social. You participate at your own discretion and are responsible for your own safety, judgment, and choices when completing any mission. Do not undertake any mission that puts you, others, or property at risk. If a mission ever feels unsafe or wrong for you, ignore it.

Some missions, such as paying for the person behind you in line, may involve out-of-pocket costs. These costs are voluntary and will not be reimbursed by Catch Karma.

7. Prize Draw

• Eligibility. The prize draw is open to legal residents of Canada (excluding Quebec), 13 years of age or older.
• The prize draw runs at the end of the pilot. Specific dates and prize details will be communicated via SMS and at catchkarma.co.
• Prize draw entries are weighted based on the number and type of missions completed.
• Prizes are provided by community partners and may include gift cards, gift packs, or local experiences.
• Winners will be contacted via SMS and must respond within a reasonable timeframe to claim their prize. Unclaimed prizes may be redrawn.
• Skill-testing question. To comply with Canadian contest law, selected winners must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question, without assistance, before receiving their prize.
• Prizes are non-transferable, have no cash value, and cannot be exchanged for currency.
• Catch Karma is not responsible for the quality, fitness, or availability of prizes provided by community partners.
• This promotion is void where prohibited.

8. Photo and Story Submissions

When you submit a photo, message, or story as proof of a completed mission, you grant Catch Karma a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, edit, display, and share your submission publicly — including on Catch Karma’s social media accounts, the catchkarma.co website, and program materials. Selected submissions will be shared as part of program storytelling. We will not publish your phone number alongside your submission.

If your submission includes other identifiable people, you confirm that you have their permission to share their image. If permission is unclear, we may anonymize the submission (cropping, blurring) before publishing, or choose not to publish it.

You may withdraw a submission from public use at any time by emailing info@catchkarma.co. We will remove it from active Catch Karma channels within a reasonable timeframe, though we cannot retract content that has already been re-shared by others.

9. Pilot Program

Catch Karma is currently operating as a pilot program. The service may change, pause, or end at any time. We will provide reasonable notice where possible.

10. Intellectual Property

"Catch Karma," the Ripple Cards, and all program materials are owned by DJ Advisory. You may not reproduce, modify, or use them outside the program without permission, except to share Ripple Cards as intended within the spirit of the game.

11. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, about the service, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DJ Advisory and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, your participation in any mission, or any prize received. Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed CAD $100.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DJ Advisory, its operators, and its partners from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your conduct, your violation of these Terms, or your interactions with prize sponsors or other participants.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the program evolves. Material changes will be communicated via SMS or posted at catchkarma.co. Continued participation after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
